The establishment history of the English Diploma began in 1992, initiated by the university leaders by appointing the Language Laboratory, which later changed its name to the Language English Language Center (ELC). This instruction was then followed up by forming a committee to establish the English Diploma based on the Rector's Decree No. Kept.179/PT30.H/I/1995, marking the beginning of the English Diploma, which started in 1997. Initially under the Unit Pelaksana Teknis (UPT) for Language Studies, the English Diploma of Jenderal Soedirman University eventually obtained the Directorate General of Higher Education Decree No. 456/DIKTI/Kep/1998, placing it directly under the university.
Since the establishment of the English Diploma, the interest in this program has increased year by year. The English Diploma program graduated its first students in 2000.
